Creating A Strong Online Presence for Software Developers

In this Day and Age where everything is Digitalized and Technology has taken the Forefront in every Endeavour of Life, your online presence is probably more recognized than your Physical presence. A Business, Institution, Group, or Individual without an Online presence will not be able to market itself to the Global Market. For us Software Developers the earlier we know this, the better for us. Here, we will run through a few ways in which you do just that and Some Ways my Mentors have suggested I improve mine as well.

A Mentor of mine said you will know your Online presence is strong or getting stronger when you Google your name and is your work that comes out as the leading Search. Many people have the same name as you, your Job is to make sure yours stands out. For Example, my Name is Chigozirim Nwokoro. When you google it.

1. Technical Writing and Blogging.

   This creates your profile online and allows others to see what you have been working on and share your views on what you are working on. It also allows you to come back and revisit it for reference or remembrance in case it escapes your memory. For us Software Developers, you know you cannot keep everything in your head because it is so massive. It allows your future partners to see how committed you are to your trade which will boost your employability status and your Technological Credibility. You can start on Free Publishing like Medium and Hashnode. There are many others but those are my two personal favorites. Anytime you learn something you can just write it here to show you truly understand it and others can use it to serve themselves.

2. Joining Social Media Platforms

This is one am Guilty of being an introverted person and wanting to be Lowkey all the time but this really will expand your Online presence because it shows you work to a much larger Crowd. You can start by joining Linkedin and then work your way up to Other stuff like YouTube, Instagram, and all that to exert your name in the online game. You can attend Software Development events to show you how to use these available resources better.

3. Certifications

This is a way of putting your skills to work and showing you have a certain level of Degree of Understanding which will build your resume and attract Good software development Jobs and all in all move you towards your Goal of becoming a savvy software developer. You can check various sites like;
